We didn't start as an AI agency. We started by trying to fix our own firm — building software, codifying expertise, replacing manual work with systems that compound. [inqb8].ai is the result of that work, now turned outward.
Before [inqb8].ai, there was The Quantus Group — an institutional tax and capital architecture practice for high-income business owners and high-earning W-2 professionals. Quantus serves clients who pay millions in tax and need the same strategic infrastructure that family offices have used for decades.
Running that practice, we kept hitting the same wall: brilliant strategy locked inside the heads of senior advisors, no software that spoke our language, every new client meaning more manual work. So we built our own platforms — qompound for tax strategy, QHub for the integrated planning workspace, Orbitify for client intelligence. They worked.
We started fielding the same question from peer firms: "How did you build this?" The answer became [inqb8].ai. We proved the model on ourselves first. Now we build for other professional service firms — accounting, law, financial advisory, wealth management — who hit the same ceiling and want software they actually own, not a vendor relationship they can't escape.
Four things we'll never compromise on, even when it costs us the engagement.
No throwaway prototypes that have to be rebuilt for production. Every system we ship is designed to outlast the engagement that produced it.
Most agencies disappear at launch. We treat launch as the start of the work, not the end. The platform should be more valuable in year three than in year one.
The valuable thing is the structured knowledge underneath. AI is the interface to it, not the product. If we can't articulate the expertise without the AI, we shouldn't be shipping the AI.
We take a small number of engagements each year on purpose. Depth over volume. If we're not the right fit, we'll say so on the first call — and tell you who is.
[inqb8].ai is the build arm of The Quantus Group. Quantus serves $1M+ earners — owner or W-2 — with institutional tax and capital architecture. [inqb8] builds the software that makes that practice possible.
Three platforms run the work today:
Each one started as something we needed for ourselves. Each one became a blueprint for what we can build for you.
Shaun leads every engagement personally. Additional specialists — engineers, designers, product partners — are assembled per project, matched to the work rather than fitted to a roster.
Co-founded The Quantus Group and leads [inqb8].ai. Spends most of his time at the intersection of tax strategy, product design, and engineering — building the systems that make complex advisory work scale. Lead on every [inqb8] engagement; the person you'll be talking to from intake through compounding.
For each project we bring in specialists matched to the work — senior engineers, designers, and product partners drawn from different industries depending on what your firm actually needs. The team scales with the engagement; the engagement doesn't scale to fit a team.
Five to ten minutes with 8 — our AI intake — replaces a traditional discovery call. By the time we sit down together, we already know your firm, the bottleneck, and what liberation would actually look like.
